Raffaella Arista graduated from LUISS Guido Carli University with a thesis in Industrial Law on the legal protection of software.
She is admitted to practice before the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation (Corte di Cassazione) and has been a member of the Rome Bar Association since 1998.
She has developed recognized expertise in intellectual property law, with particular focus on patents, technology and software, trademarks and other distinctive signs, design, copyright, and geographical indications (DOC, PDO and PGI).
She assists companies throughout the entire lifecycle of intellectual property rights, from creation and administrative filing to enhancement and marketing, economic exploitation through contractual arrangements and defense, including civil, criminal and customs enforcement, in Italy and across Europe.
Raffaella Arista also specializes in domestic and international commercial contracts, with specific experience in technology transfer, distribution, resale, licensing and franchising agreements.
She has held numerous teaching positions in her areas of specialization, covering art law and fashion marketing, advertising, competition and innovation law, international business strategies, intellectual property law and management, communications, and cybersecurity.
Her academic activities have included appointments at LUISS Guido Carli University, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the IED – European Institute of Design, BAU International Academy of Law, and ICE-SIOI.
Raffaella Arista is a member of the Intellectual Property Commission of the Rome Bar Association.
She has held several roles within AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property), including Member of the Executive Committee of the Italian Group (since 2005), Editor-in-Chief of the AIPPI Newsletter (since 2007), Member of the Communication Committee (2010–2012), and Member of the Bureau of AIPPI International (2014–2016).
She currently serves as a consultant to MASAF on matters relating to PDO and PGI (2025–2026).
